Have you ever thought about what you would do if your car breaks down? It's not a scenario most people like to dwell on, but if it happens, you'll be happy you were prepared for it.
Every vehicle should have a roadside emergency kit. It should include a few vital things. It should include a First-Aid kit, foldable shovel, ice melt or cat litter for traction, and flares or reflective triangles. It should also include plenty of bottled water and nonperishable food items like jerky, granola bars, or even Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) rations from the military surplus store. Don't forget warm blankets, hand and foot warmers, and even a change of clothes. You should also have jumper cables and a tow rope, as well as a flashlight and batteries, and cell phone with its charger.
You never know when you'll need your emergency roadside kit, but it doesn't really matter, because you will be prepared. It is always better to be prepared than to be in a bad situation with no tools to help yourself. You never know when your kit will help you out, and it may even save your life one day.
